Today music industry is facing monopoly of music directors like Pritam and Himesh Reshammiya who continue to chew up our eardrums with their archetypal compositions. Under such conditions any new piece of music or a musician with something new in store is welcoming. It is fortunate enough for new composers like Jayesh Gandhi and Raiomond Mirza to single out the opportunity to compose for Navdeep Singh’s noir thriller, ‘Manorama Six Feet Under’. Now let’s check out with their endeavors.

The album kick starts with ‘Woh Bheege Pal’ a delightfully composed track that breaks out in a slow pace but gears up speed as it switches on to perky thumps that swindles and flickers the rays of love. The arrangements are enticing and Jayesh’s exquisite rendition is nothing but fabulous. The lyrics by Surendra Mishra and Jayesh are tailor made to suit the verve of the song. Despite being a six-minute long song, the good point is that it doesn’t sound wearing. Good job by the composer. The remix version by DJ Akbar Sami is equally good. There is also a third surprise original version rendered by Zubeen Garg. All the versions are simply superb and draw out the musical excellence of the composers. Good one indeed!

‘Tere Sawalon Ka’ is truly one of the best love duets one have heard so far. Jayesh Gandhi’s music is refreshing that softly touches your ears and stirs melody into it. Roop Kumar Rathod, one of the finest talents around in the industry croons out this delectable song together with Mahalaxmi Iyer who is equally good here. Lyric by Manoj Tapadia is like the fresh whiff of air that carries you along with it. A very mesmerizing song by Jayesh. Truly he is a new star in making!

‘Dhundla Jo Sama Bhanda’ marks the return of Sufi muse Kailash Kher who gives the song all its grace and charm. But sadly the orchestration is meagerly done and that steals away the shine from the song. Irfan Siddiqui’s lyric is good but definitely it could be better. Most certainly this number is sure to run through the background. A mediocre delivery this time from Raiomond Mirza.

‘Dhokha’ the last song to find its way into the album is a milieu track with an explanatory interlude by Abhay Deol. Rendition by Richa Sharma is somewhat typical while the music is simply mediocre. A musically starved number.

The album of ‘Manorama Six Feet Under’ is simply astonishing. With authentic tracks to its credit, musician Jayesh Gandhi definitely scores a few extra points than his co-musician. Definitely a good musical treat.
