Vikram after entering into numerous musical enterprises with Harris Jayaraj, once again teams up with him for the music of his latest movie ‘Bheema’. The songs in ‘Bheema’ follow typical Harris Jayaraj trend of music, full of zest and zing. Harris here does not try to appease the crowd with his musical fest but his sole intention lies in delivering superior music. He also makes some trials in this album with his instrumentation. For the soundtrack, Harris employs santoor, dilruba, sarangi and sitar strains, hard to hear these days. This album embraces nearly half a dozen tracks.
The first track is ‘Oru Mugamo’ crooned by Gen X singers Krish and Naresh Iyer. This track is very robust in rhythms. P Vijay’s lyrics escape no chance to glorify the hero. This is a stylized number sure to create ripples.
‘Mudhal Mazhai’ is impregnated with hogwash proverbs. Hariharan hums melodiously also maneuvering his voice in places. Mahathi glues well with Hariharan’s singing style. The lyrics are well handled by Na Muthukumar. Harris’ use of multi instruments deserves a special mention.
Vijay Yesudas renders ‘Rangu Rangamma’ in a crusty voice. He is audible only in the first part as Kailash Kher purrs the rest of the track out and he does complete justice to it. Swarnalatha, who is at ease with such peppy numbers, play her part excellently well. Na Muthukumars’ lyrics are flamboyant and infectious.
Then trails ‘Ragasiya Kanavugal’ hummed by the industry’s most syrupy voices, Hariharan and Madhushree. This track is laced up with delicate violin notes and charming beats. Yugabharathi whips up an intense feeling of love with his lyrics.
Thereafter continues ‘Siru Parvayale’ which Karthik renders in his characteristic fashion. Harini joins him as the female counterpart. Thamarai pens down some soft lines. The music is enthralling.
The last one to find its way into the track is ‘Enadhuyirae’ which is in real sense of the term a great piece. Purred by three leading female singers - Chinmayi, Sadhana Sargam and Sowmya Raoh and assisted by one male voice Nikhil Mathew, this track brings a very passionate feel. Chinmayi gives right start to the track while Nikhil Mathew churn out right kind of passion for the track. Yugabharathi writes down this track.
All the tracks are well written and are easy on the ears. Overall a good effort!
