After delivering chart toppers like ‘Bas Ek Pal’, ‘Maula Mere Maula’ and  ‘Ek Ajnabee’, Mithoon returns with yet another musical feat in Anant Mahadevan’s  ‘Aggar’.

Produced by Narendra Bajaj and Shyam Bajaj, this film star Tushar Kapoor, Udita Goswami and Shreyas Talpade. Renowned lyricist Sayeed Quadri pens down the lyrics. All in all, the soundtrack of this album offers great promise.

The opening track of this album, ‘Nachle’  which is seeped in Arabic essence, boasts of bhangra and western arrangements and is a great club mix that is ready to perk you up. Sung by Canada based male vocalists Rup and Qurram, this is a lively song that stresses on the need of being close to your near ones. Mithoon who is otherwise known for his signature Sufi style, deviates from his customized trend and livens up the song with striking bass beats. The remix edition of this track, which appears in the end of the album, is sure to catch up with the club dailies.

The next track in the album has Mithoon going behind the mike to voice out the melodious track ‘Ke Bin Tere’. This particular track bears the celebrated Mithoon style that is sure to make the listeners nostalgic of his other hits. This track engages vocalists Hamza and Kshitij to assist Mithoon. Sayeed Quadri’s words shies away from his usual style and offers a very fresh appeal to the song. The remix version of this track is also unlike any other remix editions, which follows an entirely different trend.

Mithoon’s next offering in this album is the title track ‘Aggar’ which like all his other songs, forays a different experience. Voiced by Hamza, this track is swift and is charged with passion. Tulsi Kumar also lends her voice for the track. This is a foot-thumping track that is sure to become a craze with the listeners.

Mithoon’s next in this album is ‘Paas Aaya Kyon’, which is crooned by Sharmishtha. The song has a poignant feel to it. A slow paced track, it possesses a gloomy ambience. Sharmishtha’s icy voice is aptly suited for the number. This is one of those tracks, which demands repeated hearing to get into its real hang.

The soundtrack of this album comes to an end with Roop Kumar Rathod voicing out  ‘Sehra’ where he is joined by Shilpa Rao. This particular track has a very tranquil feeling and is said to be the most beautifully composed track of the album. This track owns a very sophisticated appeal and is sure to go down well with ghazal admirers.

The soundtrack of this album can be overall said to be an amalgamation of different genres that clearly dishes out Mithoon’s forte as a musician. Although none of the tracks from this album can be said to be a show stealer, yet the overall impression of the soundtrack appears modest.
