Vasanth is back after a yawning pause with his next silver screen offering ‘Sathumpodaathay’ that features super hit actors like Prithviraj and Padmapriya in the leads. Vasanth’s film forever carries a close resemblance to reality and this time it won’t be anything different either.

‘Sathumpodaathay’ is a hardcore emotional chestnut that reflects real life incidents and people. This film is about the sudden strike of misfortune in a middle class family that pushes everything in a downhill pit. How the family fight against this crisis forms the main line of the film.

After belting out success with his last film, Prithviraj is all set to repeat his success story with his new film. He plays the role of an engineer here. It is also the case with Padmapriya who is all set to pocket in her third consecutive hit with this flick. She is cast in the role of a graduate here.

Raghavraja who composed for one of Vasanth’s previous flick has also been offered a role here. Nitin too makes his debut with this flick. Talking about his brief sojourn from the industry, the director says that he has been out looking for some good scripts when he stumbled over the script of ‘Sathumpodaathay’ and thus decided to make a film on it.

A large chunk of the flick was shot in Kanchipuram and the capital city, Chennai.

Vasanth once again unites with Yuvan Shankar Raja to churn out melodious symphonies for his film.
