The very title of the film is good enough to suggest its musical bent. Directed by Siva Ganapati and produced by Srihari Raju, this flick is a storehouse of many tuneful melodies. But apart from its musical excellence, it sadly owns nothing commendable to boast of. The direction is lacking and the intertwining of different scenes look more or less like episodes from daily soaps clumsily sewn up together. The makers of this film were eager to prove their point that rhyme and rhythm are an invincible part of our existence and we do not disagree with them either. But what made it a dull show was their failure to put it across convincingly.
This story mainly gyrates around Madhu (Madhusudan) who has a great penchant for music. Mahita (Jyothi Krishna), his sister-in-law appreciates his talent and pushes him to pursue music. The result is that he ends up being an eminent musician in his village. His concerned father seeing his son’s extreme fascination towards music sends him away to the city to complete his education.
Madhu returns back as an ace violinist and aspires of becoming a great music director someday. Mahita who have grown up loving Madhu casually asks him the meaning of love, which he answers in his own unique style. But his answer turns out to be one of the best and he becomes winner of a contest to which Mahita sends it. He gets a chance of spending three days with one film star (Poonam Singal). During his brief stay, he develops feelings for the actress and she too reciprocates to his advances.
In the meantime, Mahita and Madhu’s fathers arrange for their match. Mahita is overjoyed at this but her joy is short-lived as after his return he chokes her with the news of his newly found love. Mahita is disheartened but she decides to hide her feelings for the sake of Madhu’s happiness. She also helps him elope from the village.
But after reaching the city, Madhu is shocked to find the sudden change in the actress’ behavior. After putting up with her for a couple of days, he realizes that she didn’t value love or feelings nor did she value him. Heartbroken he decides to return back. But then he receives a letter from Mahita’s father enlightening him about the girl’s selfless love for him. At this Madhu realizes his mistake and the film ends on a happy note with the union of two.
Madhusudhan’s performance throughout the film is passable. This actor should stop imitating others and instead carve out his own unique style. Jyothikrishna is decent in her performance. Poonam Singal too does a good job.
As already highlighted before, the music is the main soul of the film. Musician Quddus has done a remarkable job here as he has come up with some rich melodies for the soundtrack. Chaitanya Prasad’s tender and heartfelt lyrics are equally mesmerizing.
Camerawork by G Sivakumar is stupendous. Even the songs are well choreographed. Ravibabu's comic outpour is also very good. This film is a good musical entertainer but going by the script and narration, it is plagued by numerous loopholes. On the whole, not a very great film to count on.
