Producer: Jayalakshmi Narayanan Director: Chinni Jayanth Cast: Chinni Jayanth, Munisha Chatterjee, Ratheesh, Sarath Music: Suresh-Bobby
Chinni Jayanth well noted for his sidesplitting deliveries deviates from his usual comical slapstick to discover his unruffled side with his directorial venture ‘Kaanal Neer’. Besides wielding the megaphone, he has resolutely portrayed the lead role with equal ease.
Though it is a beaten-to-bush story, Chinni Jayanth, with lesser-known performers around, has endeavored his finest to come up with an engrosser. J K Ritheesh steps into filmdom with his debut role in this flick where he plays Chinni’s friend. This flick also manages to hook debutant leading lady Manisha.
The story spins in and around Pari (Chinni Jayanth) the rich heir to a massive wealth whose parents were sadly killed in a tragedy. He is brought up by his immoral uncle Durai Singam (Ambuli) who makes certain that Pari turn harebrained so that he can feed on his wealth.
A mentally unhinged Pari spends his days in the company of his friends Rajavel (Ritheesh) and Sakthi (Sarathjith) who takes care of him. In the meantime, Pari’s uncle Durai Singam arrange for his marriage. He decides to get him married to a village girl Lakshmi so that he can continue to extract his wealth. What makes up the rest of the movie is how Lakshmi along with Rajavelu and Shakthi unite to cure Pari out of his chronic sickness and teach Durai Singam a lesson.
Chinni who is adept in performing such roles plays out with great ease. Debutant Riteesh is impressive in his role, especially in the action sequences. Rest of the star cast includes Sathyapriya, Alex, Pandu, Suja and Scissor Manohar. The musical scores by Suresh and Bobby are good.
