Emraan Hashmi and Himesh Reshammiya are a dependable and super hit team. Whenever both of them have come together there has always been fireworks and hits pouring. Almost after nine months Himesh Reshammiya returns to compose for Emraan Hashmi for his forthcoming film ‘Good Boy Bad Boy’. Produced under Subhash Ghai banner, ‘Good Boy Bad Boy’ is directed by Ashwini Chaudhary and also stars Tusshar Kapoor, Tanushree Dutta, Isha Sharwani and Paresh Rawal. Sameer does the lyrics. The film is a lighthearted campus entertainer and has all the potential for Himesh Reshammiya to deliver. Will Emraan - Himesh team strike gold again, this is left to be seen!

Reshammiya offered us something radically different in ‘Namastey London’, though he gets back to his stereotype music mould again. But one can’t complain as the film has been around one and a half year in the making and it was just then when Reshammiya was becoming a big name. The album comprises four tracks and sadly the title song 'Good Boy Bad Boy' is among the frail of the lot. This campus number has Akriti Kakkar sharing the mike along with him. The theme is about a good and a bad boy set around western style of music. Though Himesh tries to compose a cool, hip and happening number, the effect is not that hot! There is also a remix accompanying this average track with a dash of rap-n-reggae added to it. Unfortunately this too is also nothing much to write home about.

Himani Kumar brings the club dance floor track 'Meri Aawargi'. Her rendition definitely lends this number an extra edge, which also sounds pretty mediocre. Reshammiya gives a usual delivery with his rendition. It’s the rhythm and pep that will catch the pulse of the club-hopping crowd. The 'remix version' too is enjoyable with tabla beats adding to the punch.

'Aashiqana Aalam Hai' begins with Himesh Reshammiya and Sunidhi Chauhan in her huskier best. Though Vinit and Alka Yagnik are also a part of the song they don’t have much impact. Western arrangements make this song catchy and it’s a peppy number. A 'remix version' follows added with routinous beats which is nothing unusual.

It’s 'Dard-E-Dil' summing up for the last track. Don’t mistake it for the vintage Rishi Kapoor number because this one is brought to you by composer Himesh and singer Zubin Garg. It is a melodious number and typical to song found in a Ghai film. The ‘remix version’ is crooned by Reshammiya but is very lukewarm.

‘Good Boy Bad Boy’ does have a youthful feel and deals with a campus story. Though the music sounds peppy, it’s not the kind that’ll make you jump with joy and thus fail to transport the message of enjoying and pleasure. This Reshammiya and Subhash Ghai fail to make another’36 China Town’ and for all hopeful fans waiting to hear another gem of an album from Himesh and Emraan team will be thoroughly disappointed.
