Selvah is all set to reconstruct veteran director K Balachander’s hit namesake film produced by Jabak. The original film starring matinee idol Gemini Ganesan in the main lead was a blockbuster hit during its days released in 1974. Selvah aspires to recreate a similar hit with his own take on the thriller ‘Naan Availlai’.

Selvah has managed to hook in Jeevan in the key role while a whole cluster of dazzling stars like Sneha, Namitha, Malavika, Jyorthirmayi and Keerthi Chawla play out the role of his five heroines.

When queried about his latest project, director Selvah blurted out that it is for the first time that Kollywood silver screen will feature five eminent heroines together. Continuing with his conversation, Selvah added that he opted to remake K Balachander's hit film, as the movie’s theme is well suited to today’s contemporary scenario but some minor changes had to be made considering the taste of present day audiences.

This film is loaded with five high-flying actresses in the industry today with Sneha in the role of a physician, Namitha as an industrialist, Malavika as a model, Keerthi as a God-fearing girl and Jyothirmayi as a conformist Keralaite.

What appeared to be a tough task initially ended out to be a pretty easy affair says the director who had the major challenge of handling five big heroines together. To quote in the director’s own words, “They all stuck to their task in a professional way. It was much simpler than what I had expected.”

Actor Jeevan is elated to share his screen space with five different actresses. Says Jeevan, “Working with them was a learning experience and I made full use of it.”

Actress Sneha says, “It was a huge responsibility on our shoulders. To match up to the performance in the original was no easy task. We have no attitude problem working together. All of us share an equal footage.”

Other actresses like Malavika and Namitha too harped on a similar note and were found saying that all the roles has been well cut out and this film will forever remain close to their hearts.

Vijay Anthony scores music for the album. A couple of tracks have been filmed at foreign locales. U K Senthil Kumar handles the photography. This movie is slated for April release.
