Prabhas, the handsome poster boy of Tollywood, has been going through a rough patch. To salvage his career, Prabhas went ahead to do a mass entertainer with Munna. The film released this summer amidst huge expectations, as it is produced by Dil Raju, a successful producer with four blockbusters to his credit. Teenage sensation Illeana’s pairing with Prabhas had further escalated expectations.
Munna showcased the debonair qualities of Prabhas. He looked so handsome on screen with his new makeover. Designers from Mumbai were roped in to style him. Tamil music industry’s top composer Haaris Jayaraj’s excellent musical score alone is enough reason for audiences to watch it once. Indeed, his composition of “Manasa Nuvvunde Chotu..” is now the top tune used as dialer tones in Andhra Pradesh. Peter Haynes’ stunts are awesome too.
Munna (Prabhas) is a student at Osmania University. His sole aim in life is to destroy the business of Khaka (Prakashraj), a ruthless gangster who can do anything for money. Khakha's son Rahul (Sridhar) too studies on the same campus. Rahul is after a girl student Nidhi (Ileana), who in turn falls for Munna. The drama then moves from love war to a direct fight between Kakha and Munna. What is it about them? and what is between Munna and Khakha? What about their past? It is unraveled in the end leading to a chilling climax.
