Prominent Goan director Rajendra Talak delves into a thin-skinned subject in his bilingual flick ‘Savalee’ which is produced by Shivendu Agarwal's National Education and Information Films.

The story mainly gyrates around Ramabai Shirodkar (Reema Lagoo), a seasoned classical vocalist and her daughter Sanika (Amruta Subhash). Ramabai is out and out a conventional, austere singer who wants Sanika to stomach in all the canons of classical music but she is more inclined towards contemporary music. Feeling smothered under her mother’s austere guidance, she wishes to flee away. All her predicaments, tests and her struggle to step out from her mother’s shadow are well depicted throughout. Although set in Goa, the film cruises to a city where Sanika heads to achieve her goal.
