Audio Review : Panga Naa Lo - Messy Music!

Producer: Sunit Jawadekar, Shailesh Jawadekar
Director: Rajan Kothari
Cast: Om Puri, Satish Shah, Viju Khote, Supriya Pathak, Navni Parihar, Kunal Roy Kapoor
Music: Rahul Ranade
Singers: Nitin Raikwar, Juune Banerji, Shaan, Vaishali Samant, Shilpa Rao, Amitabh Gokhale

There is a very low anticipation from the music of ‘Panga Naa Lo’, which stars Om Puri and Satish Kaushik in the lead roles. The film’s tracks are composed by Rahul Ranade while Amol Gupte, Jeetendra Joshi and Shrirang Godbole handle the lyrics.

The album unfolds with the title track ‘Panga Naa Lo’ sung by Nitin Raikwar and Juune Banerji.  The track is completely indecipherable and monotonous. The vocals are very poor and the entire compilation is below average.

The next track, ‘Dil Ki Kuchh Baatein’ is a mushy song. This track brings some relief to the ears after the horrific ‘Panga Naa Lo’. This song is mellow and is appreciated by the audience. Sung by Shaan, this seven minute song is solely dominated by keyboard fillers which somewhat fades out the sheen of this track. This track also gets Vaishali Samanth to croon out the female version of it. The echo effect imparted to this version creates a lounge feel. This track appears in the album as the remix edition and makes up for a worthy listening.

Shilpa Rao voices out the next track ‘Uff Ooee Maa’. This is a bawdy number that is surely to impress the frontbenchers only. This song is nothing outstanding and can be ranked with the other tracks in the album, which is mediocre. This song is set in a dance bar and its musical quality is lower than expected.

The first duet in this album ‘Us Paar Hai Meri Jaan’ has Shaan and Vaishali Samanth offering their voices. This is perhaps the best track of the lot. A soft rock ballad, this comes up as Rahul Ranade’s best offering in the album. This song, which belongs to the romantic genre, has Shaan crooning out in his usual style that imparts charm to this track. But this track cannot be expected to make up to the chart busters.

The soundtrack of this film is nothing exceptional. With average compositions, this album is sure to do no wonders. Overall, an undistinguished album.
