With the hectic urban lifestyle and strive to attain materialistic luxuries beyond imagination, one gets lost in the wide world.   ‘Life in a…Metro’ is one such story, which takes a look at people who love to dream but are not sure if it will ever come true, who are looking for happiness at the end of the rainbow.

Rahul is a young call centre executive in a BPO in Mumbai who loves to dream. He is in love with Neha, his boss, a young woman who has made to the top in a very short time. Coupled with hard work it also the admiration from her boss Ranjeet, who loves her and is keen to shower her with gifts and opportunities if she desires. Ranjeet and Shikha are married to each other and have a 6-year-old son. Shikha is educated and was a better student than Ranjeet, but has settled being a housewife for everyone’s sake and happiness. Ranjeet wants money and success and has completely his family somewhere on the way. This has resulted in bitterness and boredom in their relationship. Neha has been like a fresh breeze in his life with whom he has a stirring and sexual relationship which is non-committal.

Shikha is bored of her monotonous lifestyle and uncaring husband and takes a liking for Akash. He is a struggling artiste and his wife has divorced him for his failures. Shikha and Akash find solace in love and soon Shikha crosses the limits she has guarded for long. Her moral strength is her aunty Vaijanti who lives in an old age home and has been reunited with her 70-year-old lover Amol who has returned to India after 40 years to meet her. Shikha’s sister and Neha are roommate, along with Shruti who works at Radio Mirchi is a producer there and is desperately wanting to get married. She is fascinated towards her RJ, Wishy K and her boss hooks her up with him. both fall in love but in the meantime she meets Debu through a matrimonial site but is not fond of him. But he is a simple guy ready to marry her.

Rahul is very ambitious but he is not ready to track the route of success through hard work. Instead he believes in going the easiest way, giving the key to his uncle’s opulent apartment where he stays to the people who want it. The men in his office hoard the place with their mistresses, girlfriends or prostitutes. They in turn return the favour by recommending his name for promotion. Ranjeet along with Neha comes to the apartment. In one of their escapades Neha asks Ranjeet to commit in a relationship with her. Ranjeet is not ready for it so he insults her and leaves. Neha in distress tries to end her life but is saved by Rahul who takes care of her and they come closer. But Neha is not certain about him.
