Anurag Basu and composer Pritam have garnered accolades for the music of ‘Gangster’ and so there’s no reason why we shouldn’t see the fruitful collaboration happening again. ‘Life In A...Metro’ the new titled bestowed to the earlier ‘Metro’ is produced by UTV Motion Pictures. What you get to hear at the fore is rocking music ensued by the rock band comprising Niladri, Kalyan Baruah, Jim Satya, Titu & Eric Pillai, developed exclusively for the soundtrack of the film with all male singers at the helm. With so many things happening at the front, one obviously holds high expectations from the music of the film. Without further wait, let’s get going!

You get introduced to soft rock in the first number called 'In Dino'. This is the kind of track that one generally hears from Pakistani bands. Syed Quadri pens this oh-so-romantic love number. One of the front running numbers of the album, this one has Soham behind the mike. This long and meaningful track is an outstanding composition by Pritam.

The track returns once again in the 'remix version' by Bunty Rajput titled as the 'In Dino Revisited'. A Club Mix that is all set to make people rock n roll to its beat and pulse in the forthcoming days. A heady track for the people who love to dance and swing!

The magic of music continues to the next track 'Alvida'. Lyricist Amitabh Verma with crooner K.K get together for another meaningful outing. Soft words and soothing music makes the best part of it. K.K’s depth and outstanding voice modulation makes the number stand out. Amitabh pitches for the limelight again with the new age writing style. All in all another number to leave Pritam smiling.

Pritam brings to the front again singer James who’ve already delivered much coveted hits for him in the past. He does the 'Reprise version' of 'Alvida'. Though the tempo and tune of the song remains the same one can notice the change in lyrics.

K.K once again gets behind the mike for the track 'O Meri Jaan'. The song is ideal for his voice, which has a touch of western rhythm and soft music gradually developing its pace. A romantic track with fresh sounding lyrics poured in by newbie Sandeep Srivastava. This melodious rock ballad is a good effort by Pritam and K.K and will be cherished by one and all. There is a 'Reprise Version' of 'O Meri Jaan' with singer Suhail taking care of the proceedings with his young and heartfelt voice.

Guitar and drums lead the composition that has singer James returning back again. Amidst all the good goings for the track, Syed Quadri’s lyrics needs a special mention for the introspective and touching meaning they engulf. Another superb rock number in succession that makes one keep going with the amazing album so far.

There is a 'remix version' of the same number called 'Rishtey Revisited' with DJ Nihil Chinappa and DJ Naved taking the charge. A club number that will switch you to fun gear, this one will hold more appeal to the hip-hop crowds. The remix stands out for the different musical arrangement and spicy flavour.

Suhail takes his turn to return aback with the 'Unplugged' version of 'Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si'. Lyricist Sandeep Srivastava’s lyrics make the track beautiful. Suhail focuses on his potency for the track assisted by barely a guitar in the background and excels. Here is another singer in Bollywood making it on his own with promises to hold in the future.

One can hear Adnan Sami who has already made a great start with the track from ‘Salaam-e- Ishq’, setting with another version of 'Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si'. With Pritam and Adnan Sami you can look forward to a great jaunt whatsoever. Adnan’s controlled and heartfelt rendition of the romantic number makes it a pleasant hearing all the way.

For the remix called the 'Revisited' version of the track, Adnan and DJ A-Myth can be caught in a lilting mood spurring fun for you.

It’s three for company for 'Kar Salaam' with Suhail, Soham and Pritam getting behind the mike. This track is unique because it is a completely different number from the genre of music we’ve been hearing so far. This has masti message written all about it. Each of the singers reflect a different mood as they set out for the rock addition that is infused not to astray the soundtrack from the path it has been following up to now.

Pritam have so far excelled with the music of ‘Just Married’, ‘Hattrick’ and ‘Kya Love Story Hai’, but is yet to get the coveted hit that can bring his career to the top gear. One hear at the music of ‘Life In A...Metro’ and we’re bound to say - Thumbs Up for the effort! Truly rocking music with urban flavour is what this exceptional album offers.
