Audio Review : Khallas - Horrifying Music!

Producer: Sumeet Chawla
Director: Kumar S
Cast: Govind Namdev, Harish Patel, Nikita, Om Puri, Sambhavna
Music: Illyas, Iqbal Darbar, Suresh Raheja,
Singers: Sunidhi Chauhan, Udit Narayan,  Tarannum Mallik

S. Kumar latest offering is ‘Khallas’ which stars Om Puri and the item girl Sambhavna Seth. The very brutal feel of this flick is evident from the punch line that follows ‘The Beginning Of End’. This film has succeeded to rope in as many as three musicians and three lyricists.

The title track ‘Khallas’ is composed by Iqbal Darbar and penned down by A.M. Turza. Tarannum Mallik hums the song for item girl Sambhavana Seth in a very slipshod style. This track is just unbearable and proves to be very taxing on ears. But the only rescue agent is that it does not have a remix edition.

‘Sabse Haseen’ the next track that follows is fashioned after the early 90’s trend of strider tunes, insipid writings and dull singing. Written by Shabbir Ahmed and composed by Suresh Raheja, this song sounds rotten. This is an average track crooned by Sunidhi Chauhan and it also sounds very much unlike her.

The next track ‘Rab Di Kasam’ again has Sunidhi offering her voice but here she is joined by Udit Narayan. Written by Ravi Chopra, this track looks inspired from the 80’s and sounds all the more damp.

Tarannum Mallik returns with A.M. Turza yet again for tracks like ‘Gohar Laga Ya Laal’ and ‘Hothon Ko Tere’ which is composed by Illyas. An item number with lyrics that requires no imagination, ‘Gohar Lega Ya Laal’ is out an out a track to be played in the dance bars. ‘Hothon Ko Tere’ is a seductive song which fails to convince.

In short the music of ‘Khallas’ is very wearing and it is sure to leave the racks soon. This is the kind of album that will hardly find any listeners. Just too bad!
