The movie is the account of Shiva (Ramesh), son of an affluent entrepreneur in Madurai and Priya (Saloni), the spawn of a rowdy milk supplier Mayandi (Lal). Shiva and Priya study in the same college. Initially Priya exhibit a strong dislike for Shiva but gradually the hatred takes the shape of tender love. But everything is hardly all rosy for this couple who have to face complications from their families. Initially the parents from both sides agree to this match but they come up with the clause that the two cannot meet for a year. In the meantime Shiva’s father forcefully sends him to Mumbai and locks him up there. Meanwhile Priya’s father arranges to get her married to one of his friends. The story then follows how the two combat against all odds to reunite.
