An absurd film with atrocious screenplay.
The promotional campaign of this film was done with great pomp and show and faces of comic stars like Ali and Suman Shetty were used extensively while promoting it. But when we head towards the theatres to get a real slice of entertainment, what we get is a rude shock. This film is nowhere close to comedy but a brain eating mad film. Although proclaimed by its makers to be based on a factual event, nevertheless the story falls prey to strenuous and faulty direction. Plagued with indecent progress, unwarranted songs and comedy, terrible screenplay and meager directorial aptitude, this film is a real painful watch.
This ridiculously absurd flick revolves round a rich millionaire Akash (Prithvi) who is an affluent business tycoon in US. Akash visits India once a year to check out his business developments here. Now Akash had a stepbrother who used to continuously honk him for money. Being a rich man, he used to give out money lavishly. Gradually, he gives in to bad habits and turns a womanizer.
Nayar (Hemasundar) is the caretaker of his business in India. Akash fancies his daughter Anjali (Sony) who too falls into his trap, gets pregnant and commits abortion without her father’s knowledge. Meanwhile Akash is in love with Lahari (Lahari) daughter of a billionaire (Costumes Krishna), an NRI settled in the US. He decides to sell away his business in India and settle in US forever. In the meantime, Nayar turns out too be a crook who milks away one crore rupees from Akash’s account by forging his signature.
Akash also has a director friend who introduces him to his heroine. Akash entices her with a lucrative Hollywood offer. When the friend gets to know this he kills the heroine. One day suddenly Akash is found dead. The postmortem report reveals that he was first poisoned, then axed, then stabbed, then strangulated and finally crushed with a boulder to death. The TN police’s investigation reveals that Akash’s manager, his stepbrother, his director friend and Nayar, made a murder attempt on him. However, Akash survived all these attacks but was finally killed by his driver, who had raped his sister and forced her to commit suicide.
Prithvi is moderate in his performance. Even Sony and Puja are somewhat above average in their efforts.
This film has forced comedy that seems a little out of place. Ali, Satyam Rajesh and Suman Shetty are good in their comical deliveries but its discrepancy with the development of the plot tarnishes its impact.
Although the storyline is intriguing, the bumpy ride of the plot leads to a distasteful affair. Chaotic script, deprived directorial skills and unseemly timing of songs make the film mind numbing. Music by Gorantla Krishna is unexciting. Dialogues by Boyinapalli Prasad are okay. Editing by Mutyala Nani is lacking. Comedy by Kondavalasa Lakshmana Rao and Satyam Rajesh isn’t up to the mark as well.
This film with poor technicalities and zero creativity makes for an arduous watch. In a nutshell, it would be wise to skip the flick.
