Movie Review : Neevalle Neevalle

Producer: Oscar Ravichandran
Director: Jeeva
Cast: Vinay, Sada, Tanisha
Music: Harris Jayaraj

Kollywood’s ace cinematographer-director Jeeva’s next film to hit the big screen is ‘Neevalle Neevalle’ the dubbed version of his Tamil hit ‘Unnale Unnale’. This candyfloss flick starring Bangalore based model and newcomer Vinay, Sadha and Tanisha Mukherjee in key roles is produced by AK Ramana and C Vijaykumar. It is a mushy lovey-dovey flick beautifully woven in the backdrop of a perfect setting.

Jeeva compactly packs his film with a chic and trendy look. In all Jeeva’s films, the backdrop is shown to be a major highlight and in this film the director diligently works out the intricacies to make the story more alluring and down-to-earth. Musician Harris Jayaraj has come up with some love-dipped tracks that heighten the cuteness of the flick. The actors are good in their roles particularly Sada who simply delivers a knock out performance here.

For this hip and cool flick, Jeeva banks on the software world as backdrop to ensure smooth flow of his story. This flick shot in and around Melbourne, is high on hip feel.  Jeeva also jumbles up comedy, romance and emotion in this flick in just about right proportion.

Karthik (Vinay) is software professional with girls being his Achilles' heel. He is an extremely flamboyant and charming young man who happens to flirt with every girl he chances upon.  But his love toss with Jhansi (Sada) at Hyderabad fails to materialize. Jhansi is total contrast to Kathik. She is a straightforward, simple-minded girl who strongly abhors Karthik’s amorous activities. And the two parts for this very reason. Karthik takes the split in a casual manner while Jhansi flows off to Australia for higher studies.

But as luck would have it, Karthik is too sent to Melbourne on an official task. There he stumbles upon Deepika (Tanisha) on his flight. Deepika too like him is full of beans and lives her life to the fullest. She identifies with Karthik and in the long run helps him reunite with Jhansi. But amidst all this hurly-burly, she too loses her heart to Karthik.

Towards the end, Karthik finds him badly strangled between his ex-flame and his present interest. Now it is up to him to make the move. Jeeva maintains the suspense till the end that successfully keeps all his audiences tightly glued to their seats. The greatness of Jeeva lies in letting the story originate at its own pace instead of pushing it towards its hurried end. The spontaneity and plausibility make the story worth trailing.

Talking about the performances, novice Vinay is good. This guy has a natural flamboyance about him that effectively comes across on the screen. Sada is simply mind blowing in her role. She portrays all nuances of her complex character with perfect grace and ease. Tanisha, on the other hand is intoxicatingly vivacious and energetic in her performance. Raju Sundaram's character adds the necessary waywardness of the script.

Music by Harris Jayaraj is equally chic and stylish. It bears the stamp of class all throughout and makes for an impeccable hear.

Apart from directing this chocolaty love flick, Jeeva also handles the camera work and story of the film with brilliance. A nice romantic affair by a great director. A must watch for all hearts in love.
