Sonu (sanjay dutt) and Monu (Govinda) are the spoilt brats of a Kanjoos millionaire seth Amirchand (Kadar Khan), who is so strict that it becomes impossible for his children to enjoy life their way. Thus they decide to rob their own father. But as the luck would have it, they are caught rehanded.

Seth Amirchand Emotionally blackmails and separates Sonu-Monu. sonu is sent to goa for the recovery of dues from the client and Monu is made to attend office regularly. Monu fall in love with Ritu (Karisma Kapoor), who is staying in a college hostel in Mumbai and Sonu falls in love with Pooja(Pooja Batra) in goa. Coincidentally, Ritu and Pooja are also sisters.

To impress Pooja's father, Seth Gulzarilal (Anupam Kher) Sonu's pranks lands him in trouble and he calls Monu to his rescue.

One lie leads to another, to another and to anther and sonu-Monu land up in a big soup. Seth amirchand too reaches Goa with his P.A. Kunj Bihari (satish Kaushik) and are encountered by the underworld. How Seth amirchand is kidnapped by Bhai (Ashish Vidhyarti) and how Sonu-Monu save their father from the climax of HASSENA MAAN JAAYEGI.
