Filmmaker Suneel Darshan has been associated with Nadeem Shravan whom he was fond of for the music of his films. The composers had delivered amazing music for them in the 90s when they were at the peak of their careers. Now the current music sensation Himesh Reshammiya steps in their shoes for the music of this flick with lyricist Sameer giving the lyrics. Let’s check out what’s in store from the music of the film.
'Shakalaka Boom Boom' the title song of the film at the start of the album makes you shake a leg making your heart go boom boom along with it. The song begins with a rap by Earl with Himesh taking over for the main rendition and Akriti Kakkar doing the female part. Himesh does a fine job overcoming the nasal sound and singing the track in medium pitched voice. It’s a hit material and promises you time in fun grooving. It’s a very urban and catchy track sure to make it to the top of year’s favourite. The remix gets funkier and it’s a thoroughly enjoyable club number. Peppy and rhythmic mood continues as the remix version too keeps the party going.
Not taking a dip, the upbeat mood of the soundtrack continues with another foot tapping score 'Thaare Vaaste'. A trademark Reshammiya song, this one is rendered by Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan. What is noticeable is the fact that the song is infused with more entertaining quality rather than coming as a Sufi number throughout. A rhythmic love song ideal to be an enjoyable Bollywood score that you would cherish as well. However you can look forward to the remix version, as it offers nothing new other than additional beats and faster pace.
Sameer outshines in 'Naamumkin' that has lyrics worth noticing. Another traditional slow painful number composed and sung by Himesh it narrates the plight of a man who has lost the love of his life and cannot live without her. The orchestra makes its mark as well in this situational track. Remix version of the song sounds different because of the variety brought about in arrangement. Another nice number to be played along in club/lounge.
You get a sense of déjà vu with the next song 'Dil Lagaayenge' that offer nothing novel. But this club track should provide enough fodder to turn out to be a foot tapping score. Himesh Reshammiya and Akriti Kakkar pair up for both the original and remix tracks.
'Isi Umeeed Pe' arrives next but this moderate paced track has a distinct club feel to it. Rendered by Shaan this is a pretty small song but comes as one of the cherishable tracks from the album.
The good work continues with 'Saathiya' another small track spanning for 2 minutes with the English words 'How Can I Live Without You' chipped in. Kunal Ganjawala and Sunidhi Chauhan render this duet number.
Follows another short track in succession 'Aaj Nahi To Kal' sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. The rhythm of this number is indeed catchy.
'Tera Sona Sona Roop' is another rhythmic track by Kunal Ganjawala and Sunidhi Chauhan, which lasts for 2 minutes. All the short tracks have come as likeable number with infectious beats but lasting only for a while though you had wanted to enjoy them at full length.
We continue the complaint with 'Rukhsat' a pleasant score rendered by Shaan but lasting for only 75 seconds. Another enjoyable conventional Bollywood track.
Himesh just couldn’t do without the remix of the short numbers. But he has done that in an innovative way with the track 75 seconds which features each of the track done with new beats and rhythm. The song calls for repeat mode, which should click as club favourites.
Himesh Reshammiya and Sameer have delivered what a good audience expected out of them. The album has more hits than misses. The title song and 'Thaare Vaaste' are chartbusting material while 'Naamumkin' and 'Dil Lagaayenge' are apt for decent hearing. But the 5 short tracks take the album to a different level. The album is loaded with urban hip music and comprises both Himesh kind of music and the not so conventional ones.
