Movie Review : Don't Stop Dreaming

Producer: Munir Ahmad
Director: Aditya Raj Kapoor
Cast: Rishi Kapoor, Sunil Shetty, Michelle Collins, Richard Blackwood, Taz, Ronny Jhutti,
Music: Stereo Nation

This Brit-Asian film may at first look promising but as you delve deep into it, it may come out as another one in the string of hackneyed flick. Starring Taz of Stereo nation fame together with Sunil Shetty and Michelle Collins, this is a film about wannabe musicians who dream to make it big.  But unfortunately the film does not hold any hope in the end.

This is a story about wannabes who can go to any limits to achieve their purpose. Gabby (Sigga) aspires to fulfill her dad, Groovy’s (Rishi Kapoor) dream of becoming a singer by making it to a band. She forms a group of misunderstood oddballs, who like her, harbor the same dream and passion. But their way to fame is plagued with many hindrances, namely, a bank swipe that goes terribly wrong, skeptical families and Saturn’s negative power.

The worst of both the East and the West comes together to make this film a painful experience. The cast of this film is bad enough to hold any attention. Their overformal acting hinders from appreciating their laborious performance. To be precise, the technical side of this film is poor enough with meager cinematography, clumsy editing and bad lighting. The characters are scantily developed and to add to that is the badly fingered script and unbearable taxing dialogues. The only good thing about this film is Taz’s song that is a welcoming relief.

The cast and crew would surely opt to hibernate after the film’s release. With nothing good to its credit, the only good thing that has ever happened to this flick is that it got released. In totality, this crude, uninteresting, cheap film is nothing but a complete trash.
