‘Aarya’, directed by Balasekharan boasts of a big star cast comprising Madhavan, Bhavana, Prakash Raj and Devan. Mani Sharma composes the soundtrack while Pa Vijay pen down the lyrics. A host of leading vocalists likes Karthik, Suchitra, Tippu, Anuradha Sriram and Saindhavi playback for the album.
The opening track of this album is the title track ‘Aariya’ which is a typical college song. Karthik and Suchitra tune in their voices for this track. Karthik delivers yet again. Pa Vijay’s lyrics are voluptuous with easygoing widespread college expressions. Overall, a peppy number.
Next track to find place in the album is ‘Ennangira’ rendered by Anuradha Sriram and Tippu. It is a light song with swinging rhythms. Anuradha Sriram steals all the attention with her raspy tone. Mani Sharma’s excellent beats deserve a special mention for the zing it offers to this track.
The next one in offering is ‘Chillae Chillae’ which is a romantic duet by Naveen and Saindhavi. Notes from the guitar and saxophone dictate the track. This is another peppy number. Naveen’s voice is lovable.
‘Jillendra Theeyae’ is next in line. This is another romantic duet delivered by Naveen and Rita. Pa Vijay does wonder with his lyrics. Mani Sharma skillfully interfuses strums of guitar and sitar, which is a very enriching experience. Rita mesmerizes with her soulful voice.
The last track to come up is ‘Arukinil Arukinil Vaada’ which is a very arresting song. This track has a very smooth feel to it with its intermingling notes from guitar and flute. Karthik and Vardhani croon out this track. Vardhini entices with her performance.
The overall soundtrack of this album is modest. The music is appealing and the vocalists do justice to their tracks. A nice album!
