Ram Gopal Varma brings a different kind of love story titled ‘Nishabd’. ‘Nishabd’ is the story of a 60-year old married man romancing an 18-year old girl. The film has in the lead superstar Amitabh Bachchan and marks the debut of Jiah Khan whom Amitabh is romancing in the film. Jiah was supposed to debut with Anurag Basu's ‘Tumsa Nahi Dekha’ but the film didn’t work out. She is the daughter of small-time former actress Rubiya. Amitabh Bachchan will be essaying the role of a wild life photographer. For the first time he sees Jiah while watering plants in a garden. Their love story blooms when he clicks many pictures of Jiah getting wet in water.

Though the film is supposedly a Bollywood version of Vladimir Nakobov's novel ‘Lolita’ RGV claims that it is his conception and the film is a different take from the novel. The film has been shot in Munnar in Kerala. Aftab Shivdasani, Revathy and Rukhsar are also in important role in this film.
