Producer: Ram Gopal Verma Director: Ram Gopal Verma Cast: Amitabh Bachchan, Jiah Khan, Revathy, Rukhsar, Shraddha Arya Music: Vishal Bhardwaj, Amar Mohile Singers: Amitabh Bachhan, Jiah Khan
Ram Gopal Verma arrives with another unconventional film with the unconventional star cast of Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and debutante Jiah Khan who is one-third his age. ‘Nishabd’ touted to be a high voltage sensual drama has been in news since its inception. Another unconventional aspect of the film is its music album that boasts of just two songs 'Rozana' and 'Take Lite'. The songs have been composed by Vishal Bhardwaj. The last time Vishal had composed music for Ramu was way back in 1998 for ‘Satya’. Ramu especially called for Vishal to compose music for the film. Ramu wants to start a new trend in Bollywood by releasing this track only from the film.
After singing for Ravi Chopra's Baabul, Big B returns back to hone his skills with ‘Nishabd’. Simply mind blowing. This is what comes to your mind when you hear the track 'Rozana'. The lyrics are penned by young poet lyricist Munna Dhiman. He has given his best inputs and others associated like Ram Gopal Verma, Amitabh Bachchan and Vishal Bhardwaj had just delivered the best. It is difficult to classify the song in any particular genre but it is a love ballad and can be branded as a new genus of track. The song begins in a low-key format but soon builds way from medium to high note. Undoubtedly this is the best track that Bachchan has sung in his career so far.
'Take Lite' is contrary to its title in the sense that it is a heavy orchestra and high voltage energetic track. This will be an apt entry to the discotheque so to say. Western in feel and structure with a dash of Turkish, Middle East and Bollywood flavour this is a Hinglish number by Farhad Sajid composed by Amar Mohile. Here is a pleasant surprise about the singer of the track as it is none other than Jiah Khan. And though it’s her first take it’s a brilliant one.
Though the album has just two songs, both of them are like gems for the album and makes it’s a compulsory criteria to hear them. In this otherwise song-less movie the team of RGV, Amitabh Bachchan Jiah Khan and Vishal Shekhar succeeds in bringing up the in a mood-driven theme. Apt for narrative and as well lending hearing pleasure the music team of ‘Nishabd’ has something different in store for you!
