Guddu Dhanoa and Sunny Deol striked gold at the box office sometime back with ‘Ziddi’ and ‘Saalakhein’. They’re back once again with another muscle flexing film. The film was earlier title ‘Deodhar Gandhi’ but after its prolonged delay it has been renamed as ‘Big Brother’. Sandesh Shandilya and Anand Raj Anand have been entrusted with the task to compose music for the film. Another exciting fact is that Ustad Sultan Khan makes his debut in Bollywood playback singing with this film.

The first song surely gives a warm and welcoming feel to the album that you had hardly expected. Shreya Ghoshal and Kunal Ganjawala make you bask in sweet melody with the love ballad ‘Piya’. Shandilya fuses conventional Bollywood melodic patter with folksy base. A good pick for you at the very beginning of the album.

Ustad Sultan Khan take the lead for the next track ‘Jag Lal Lal Lal’ which gives the philosophical message of righteous and humane thoughts. Anil Pandey’s meaningful words lends the track its moments which is a fusion of music and emotions. Another thumbs up for the soundtrack in succession.

There is another part of the track ‘Jag Lal Lal Lal’ rendered by one of the most sought after singers of the time Zubin Garg. He is just enchanting in this Sufi track and with the touch of much softer feel makes this a worthy pick for music lovers.

Much to your surprise there is also the third version of the track. This is jugalbandi time for Ustad Sultan Khan and Zubin Garg and this would appeal more to the class listeners.

Sunidhi Chauhan attempts in reviving the raunchy and rustic feel of ‘Beedi’ with the next Shandilya composed track ‘Balaam Tera Nakhra’. Loaded with folksy feel and sensual appeal this track is very much reminiscent to ‘Beedi’ but only with different keyboard notes. The track doesn’t come as peppy but would be surely lapped by the frontbenchers.

Roop Kumar Rathod, Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik and Sadhna Sargam enthrall you with their vocal works for the prayer track ‘Jeevan Tumne Diya’. The songs reaches where it deserves and makes its impact felt at the hearts.

Anand Raj Anand who has been out of the music scene so far returns back with a groovy Bhangra pop track along with Jaspinder Narula for the track ‘Lak Tunnu Tunnu’. Tailor made for Sunny Deol on the lines of  ‘Kammo’ and ‘Punjabi Munda’. With zest and zeal earmarking the track, be sure to have a nice dancing time with Sunny Deol.

Other than the upbeat versions of  ‘Jag Lal Lal Lal’ and ‘Piya’ the soundtrack is pretty routinous. With the film stuck in the cans for long and the delay in its release there is little hype about the film and its music. So don’t expect anything outstanding!
