Nandamuri Kalyanram has failed to deliver any significant in the recent past and is in a major need of a breakthrough. It is also the story with cinematographer turned director Teja who too is in need of a desperate hit. But sadly their new film together fails to create any ripples at the box-office. Although the box-office collections during the first couple of days were tepid, the sales somewhat picked up during the mid-week. Kaajal who makes her debut with this film looks scintillating as a rural belle.
Rayavaram sarpanch Chenchuramaiah (Sayaji Shinde) and Kotipalli president Chalamaiah are political big shots who spark up feud between two villages only for some petty political gain. They also plan to get rid of Ramu's (Kalyanram) father. The temple erected by the localites of Rayavaram in Kotipalli turns out to be the sticking point for the feud. The collector sensing the extremity of the situation seals the temple and puts up a hedge around it and instructs that no inhabitant should trespass the area.
Lakshmi (Kaajal) who is the daughter of Chenchuramaiah is in love with her aunt’s son Ramu. On the other hand Chalamaiah's son Giridhar (Ajay) harbors feelings for Lakshmi who leaves his wife for her. Once when Giridhar rags Lakshmi, Ramu defies with the former and challenges to open the Siva temple's doors and perform abhishekam. As he goes ahead with the idea, a major feud breaks out between two villages. At this Chenchuramaiah comes up with a crooked plan. He proposes for a bullock cart race and suggests that the one who will win will marry his daughter. The two men agree to the offer. Meanwhile Giridhar entices Gopalam with Parijatham and instructs him to impede Ramu from winning the race.

As a result Ramu loses the race. The whole village gears up for Giridhar-Lakshmi wedding when Gopalam returns and divulges the secret behind Giridhar's win. As per Lakshmi's wish, Giridhar and Ramu contest again and this time Ramu upsurge as the winner.
Talking about the performances, Kalyanram acted out well as he got into the skin of naive and uneducated village lad. Kaajal also looked promising in her maiden venture. Ajay as baddie walks away with all glory at the end of the day. Other actors like Telangana Sakuntala, Sayaji Shinde, Prabha and Suhasini did justice to their roles.
Camera work by RA Krishna is superb. Musical composition by RP Patnaik is a run of the mill affair. Comedy by Raghubabu is also average.
In a nutshell, this film makes for an average watch.
