Vikram Bhatt tries his hands in comedy with Awara Paagal Deewana. The director is going through a shaky phase of his career after the debacle of Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage. This potboiler has music by Anu Malik and lyrics by Sameer. The duo has not done an impressive job and has failed miserably in terms of good music.

The first song is a disappointment in itself. ‘Jise Hasna Rona Hai’ passes unnoticeable, and a bunch of talented singers like Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik, Shaan, Udit Narayan, Sarika & Sunidhi fall flat throughout. The composition lacks life and luster and none but Anu Malik is to be blamed for it.

‘Maine To Khai’ the next track meets the same fate. Sunidhi and Abhijeet fail to save the song. It couldn’t have been much worse!

‘More Saweria’ is a vintage Anu Malik song. He croons along with Sunidhi and Shaan. The songs get more unbearable as it progress.

The title song ‘Awara Paagal Deewana’ appears relieving from the headlong torture so far. Shaan and Sunidhi sing it out well. Now that doesn’t mean you can expect much from it. It is just average and possibly okay.

‘Yeh Tune Kya Kiya’ is a duet by Sonu Nigam and Anuradha Paudwal who do a decent task yet again. The song heads for the verdict average.

The only saving grace of the album is ‘Ya Habibi’ in the voice of Adnan Sami, Shaan, and Sunidhi. The singers do a pretty average job with the composition.

Anu Malik has wrapped up a bad affair with the songs scaling between average and semi-average. He has been very disappointing throughout. Its high time and he should start considering the music he is creating.  Sorry we cannot bear the torture any longer!
