Movie Preview : Muni

Producer: Saran
Director: Lawrence Raghavendra
Cast: Lawrence, Raj kiran, Vedika, M S Baskar, S N Lakshmi, Kovai Sarala
Music: Bharadwaj

Kollywood’s most eminent director-producer Saran has hooked in Tollywood’s noted choreographer and filmmaker Lawrence Raghavendra to direct his next home production ‘Muni’, released under his Gemini Productions. This film apart from starring Lawrence and Raj Kiran in the lead roles also stars Vethika, Kovai Sarala and Ramesh Kanna in supporting roles.

As the very title of the film suggests, the film deals with paranormal powers not intelligible to common minds. Defending his atypical title, the director says that although the film’s name sounds a bit off hand, the film nevertheless will gratify the audiences of all sections. It is reportedly said that Raj Kiran who is cast in a significant role in this film rejected many offers, as he didn’t like the script before opting out for ‘Muni’.

The producer opines that the presence of a big actor like Raj Kiran will surely boost the esteem of the film. Lawrence Raghavendra has already carved a niche for himself as a director in Telugu film industry and has also acted in some Tamil films like ‘Parthen Rasithaen’, ‘Amarkkalam’ and ‘Parthale Paravasam’ previously.

Bharadwaj scores all the tracks for the album of which a couple of songs are extravagantly filmed in Chennai while the rest of the track are shot in foreign locales.

For the promotional campaign, the producer has come up with a very novel idea. For one of the track that was being shot in the well-known Muniswaran temple at Burma Colony in Chennai, thousands of people named Muni assembled for the shooting.

Not only this, the producer also called for a contest during the music release of the film where he asked all those with the name of Muni to amass in the site where they were given gifts and were also made to appear in one of the song sequences.
