Marimuthu is making debut as a director through ‘Kannum Kannum’ but he seems to have good knowledge of filmmaking. He is of the opinion that films with good storyline and script won’t go wrong even if action-packed commercial entertainers are the order o the day. He has got the guts to take up this film starring Prasanna and Udhayathara.

The director said that producers were not in the mood to take his script until Mohanradha and B S Radhakrishnan encouraged him to start. It is a love story sans bloodshed. “It's all about a love or rather a war between the two bitten by the love bug. There is no room for bloodshed or fights. I have tried to render the movie in a poetic form with lyricist Vairamuthu giving enough support,” revealed the director.

Hero Prasanna is confident that this terrific entertainer would set a new trend in Kollywood, as it has different kind of story. In fact, he was impressed with the story so much so that he accepted it immediately. It is said that Dhina has come out with beautiful music that suits the story of the film.
