Director Ezhil is known for romantic flicks but he is changing the track this time around. Maybe he wants to let action do the talking. ‘Deeppavali’ has Jayam Ravi and Bhavana in the lead roles. Lingusamy N produces it and Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the tunes.

This film is a typical commercial entertainer with lots of action. It is also said to have enough romantic elements. The story revolves around the life of a Chennai-based gangster. Ravi plays local bigwig Mudaliar’s (Vijay Kumar) son, who owns fishing boats and call taxi service. Mudaliar has a mission in life, and that is to give refuge to the needy and reform the rowdies who look forward to lead a better life.

The producer is confident that the director will repeat the magic of ‘Thullada Manamum Thullum’ in ‘Deeppavali’. The director on his turn thanked the producer for giving him the chance to take up this project, which he has been thinking for quite sometime now. Ravi said that shooting for the film was like going for picnic.
