There is one universal feeling that bonds all across the universe and that is the feeling of love. Nikhil Adavni in his eternal love story ‘Salaam-E-Ishq’ attempts one such concept, narrating about 6 couples who come from different spheres of life and are unknown to each other. But at the end how love brings them together and joins their destinies forms the crux of the story. The film narrates six stories, which goes as follows.

Tehzeeb (Vidya Balan) and her very romantic husband Ashutosh (John Abraham) love each other very much. They had eloped and got married two years ago. And in spite of all the odds they have kept the flame of love burning. Both of them work in Mumbai at a news channel. Tehzeeb is a field reporter and Ashutosh a film editor. But their happy life goes topsy-turvy when one day Tehzeeb meets an accident that changes their life. It’s a testing time for Ashu to prove his love. Does he pass the test?

Raju Taxiwala (Govinda) is a taxi driver who visits the New Delhi International Airport daily and has been doing it since the last 15 years. He goes and stands there and never complains about the increasing queue. He enjoys watching the doors open and close as he waits for her, his dream girl Stephanie (Shannon Esrechowitz) he has been waiting for 15 years. And one day she comes not for him but for her boyfriend Rohit Chaddha.
 
Vinay Malhotra’s (Anil Kapoor) life is just too prefect. From his home to his loving wife Seema (Juhi Chawla) and doting daughters. He also holds a perfect London PR job. But one day he meets Anjali (Anjana Sukhani) and understands that a not so perfect life can be enjoyable too. She is an eccentric, arrogant and extremely determined London girl who gets what she wishes and this time she wants Vinay Malhotra. What does he want?

Kkamini (Priyanka Chopra) is the most sought after item girl in Bollywood and learns a new scandal about herself in newspapers. She always gets tangled with the media and she blames it on her inability to become an actress, her unfulfilled ambition. She schemes to change her image in front of the media and big producers, and get a big leap to the top heroine slot. She had never anticipated that someone like Rahul (Salman Khan) can ever come on her way.

Shiven (Akshaye Khanna), the most sought after bachelor in New Delhi is engaged to his fiancé Gia (Ayesha Takia) and is supposed to get married in the next 10 days. He wakes up to a nightmare and realizes what remains for him after the marriage. He breaks of the engagement for his freedom even though it means hurting Gia. However soon he realizes how much incomplete he is without her. 

Ramdayal (Sohail Khan) is a lower middle class Haryanvi newly married wife Phoolwati (Isha Koppikar) and wants to spend the rest of his life with her. He wants to fulfill the unfulfilled desire inside him. But there is one problem! What’s in store for all these lovers, find out in the love saga ‘Salaam-E-Ishq’!
