Rahul Productions' 'Hum Do Hamaara Ek' was launched with a lot of fanfare quite some time back after the super-success of their earlier musical venture - 'Haseena Maan Jaayegi' but has taken considerable time to reach the finishing line. Starring Govinda, Raveena Tandon and Mahima Chaudhary, it is yet another story about the double trouble due to two marriages of the main protagonist. This theme has been witnessed a number of times before (Saajan Chale Sasural, Gharwaali Baharwaali and is about to be seen again in Out Of Control). It needs to be seen how hilarious it turns out to be in this flick directed by Anees Bazmee that has music by Sandeep Chowtha, Sukhwinder Singh, Aadesh Srivastava and Rajesh Gupta.

Opening song 'Sayonee' is composed and written by Sukhwinder Singh and one looks in surprise as otherwise coy Mahima Chaudhary dropping her inhibitions and appearing in a no-holds-bar dress-up! She sizzles in this track without looking vulgar and the tune is catchy as well. In comparison it is Govinda who doesn't seem to be in his excited best in this song which is also the second straight item track by Sonu Kakkar after 'Babuji zara dheere chalo' from Dum.

After a long time comes a track which fails to rise at all in spite of Ashaji at it's helm. We are talking about 'Hum Tum Hai Tanhayi Hai' that just doesn't pick up and create that seductive mood despite of the presence of ravishing Raveena. Prime culprit seems to be the weak choreography that fails to create that much needed ambience. Sonu Nigam is just passable in this song written by Tabbish Romani and composed by Sandeep Chowtha.

Surprise, surprise and more surprise! Now Bollywood songs are also getting inspired by bhojpuri hits. Yes, we are talking about 'Bangaal Ka Rasgulla' and 'Ek Chumma De Do' which are straight lift from bhojpuri hits 'Gavanva Lai-ja Rajaj-ji' and the namesake 'Ek Chumma De Do Raja-ji' that are bombarding the local music channels. Former is a duet by Vinod Rathod and Jaspinder Narula whereas the latter has her pairing with Udit Narayan. Composed and written by Rajesh Gupta and Vinay Bihari, who have also done the originals, these not-so-upmarket songs lend no credibility to the album. From the lyrical value of the songs itself you can make out that they contribute in bringing down the fortunes of the album even more.

If this was not enough, next comes 'Bahut Chalu Hai Saala' composed by Chowta and written by Farhad. Will one really feel pride in listening to his/her toddler child singing to this one? Don't think so. But Sonu Nigam, Hema Sardesai and Govinda do seem to be enjoying themselves while singing this track which though foot-tapping doesn't go that extra distance to be a hit track. Chowtha and Tabbish Romani join hands once again for 'Zahreela Gussa' by Sonu Nigam. An average song once again!

Aadesh Srivastava's bhangra beats bring some life to this album with 'Gabbroo', which is apparently set in the household of the lead protagonist where the hero is ruing the day when he married twice and the heroines are trying to get his attention towards them. Sung by Alka Yagnik, Hema Sardesai and Baba Sehgal (in his renowned rap style), and written by Dev Kohli, it is a situational track and may just be fit for the proceedings.

Shweta Menon and Govinda gyrate to the tunes of the item song - 'Bedhadak' written by Nitin Raikwar and composed by Chowtha where they sing and dance about just going and proposing to your love 'bedhadak' i.e. 'fearlessly' without thinking of any consequences. Some noble thinking, conveyed through the vocals of Sudesh Bhonsle and Jaspinder Narula!

'Hum Do Hamara Ek' fails to make any mark on the current musical scene and doesn't boast of a single hit tune that may result in great music sales.
