The combination of Priyadarshan, Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal get back together for this comic caper 'Bhagam Bhag' with Govinda, Jackie Shroff and Lara Dutta joining the team. The music of the film is also high with the team of Sameer and Pritam getting back together with Priyadarshan after 'Garam Masala'. The album moves with the ongoing trend of original tracks with as many remix numbers. What’s really in store, lets find out.
You’re in for quite some surprise from the very first track of this comic thriller film. 'Tere Bin' the first song is not a racy track but a sweet romantic one. Melody is the high point of the track rendered by Kunal Ganjawala and Sunidhi Chauhan. Overall a nice hearing pleasure but nothing much to boast about. As we’ve mentioned earlier that there is a remix number following every original one, here is one for this with just a bit of addition of some instruments and added pace. But its 'Tere Bin – Reprised', another version of the song that sounds lots more nicer compared to the former ones. Shreya Ghoshal sings this song and the softness of the song just bowls you over.
Less heard Remo Fernandes wields the mike for the next song 'Signal' that has a carnival feel to it. Suzanne accompanies him well and both of them continue with non-stop energy and vigor. It’s a peppy track loaded with pace, rhythm and fun that set it clicking with you from the very first instance. DJ Amit composes the remix version with an extended music piece, ready to serve at the dance floors. 'Aa Khushi Se Khud Khushi Kar Le' is an item track that has Pritam written all over it and rendered by Sunidhi Chauhan. Sunidhi keeps the energy going till the very last drop for this song. Pritam adds on to the zing with the lively musical instruments making it one of the tracks in the album to look forward to.
Next arrives 'Bhagam Bhag', the situational title track and living up to the title, this truly fires pace and speed with a catchy feel rendered by Neraj Sridhar of Bombay Vikings. The racy feel justifies the theme of the film and is enjoyable although the song is nothing much to write home about. The funky remix of the song is titled as 'Press Play Mix' while 'Ragga' mix is a lounge fusion mix bringing out the different essence of the track.
'Afreen' is the next number to arrive with KK and Sunidhi Chauhan at the helm. This song appears more like a stage number, as it’s high on arrangements as a rock track and has the essence of an opera. There is also a zingy remix version of the track.
After the whole lot of energetic tracks so far, 'Chal Ud Chale' is also on the same line and doesn’t make you jump with excitement. There is no problem with this song presented with all efforts by Jojo and Sohail Kaul, but it’s the average tunes that doesn’t pick the song high above.
The music is enjoyable no doubt about it and it will give you an entertaining time but it doesn’t have the potentiality to remain alive in your memory for long. As far as Priyadarshan films are concerned this facet is fine. But compared to other soundtracks of Pritam so far like this album leaves more to be desired.
