Documentary director Kabir Khan takes you on a journey to the unexplored terrain of Afghanistan in this film starring John Abraham and Arshad Warsi and produced under Yash Raj Films banner. The music is composed by debutante Raghav Sachar. As you set out on an uncertain note on how the music for this unconventional kind of film will turn out to be, you’re taken in for a surprise with different melodious streaks filling your ears with pleasure.

‘Kabul Fiza’ kick starts the album with the right attitude. Raghav renders the song. This song is a heady mix of techno and traditional instrument with pep and pace adding to it.

There comes the instrumental theme of the number composed by Julius Packiam. Mysterious, enchanting and seductive- the music is a mix of all these. The song has a serious feel, making us more curious of what lies ahead.

More versions of the song pour in with ‘Kabul Fiza Theme’ by Raghav. There is nothing distinctive that sets the track apart as the pace and the music here almost remains the same.

Then there is the ‘Kabul Fiza Remix’ by Raghav, which also appears as any other remixes with just added pace and beat.  All the songs though nothing miraculous, work well because the original song itself is so good.

Another fast paced techno track comes next as ‘Banjar’. Shubha Mudgal’s rustic renditions take the song an extra mile. Sivamani’s percussions and Niladri Kumar’s electric sitar gives an edge to the orchestration. A good fusion number that will click with you instantly.

The smashing number is followed by a Lounge Mix version. Sunidhi Chauhan replaces Shubha Mudgal here and the track takes an urban route this time. Sunidhi’s rendition is absolutely different and this adds a different note and style to the track overall. Sunidhi is at her best and once again leaves an impact with her voice.

‘Banjar Revisited’ is the third version of the track sung by KK. Another high pitched well-sung song coming out from him. All the three versions of the track are just outstanding.

Raghav wields the mike again for ‘Keh Raha Mera Dil’ another nice hummable track with softer instruments this time. An enjoyable song on the same route as the first two tracks.

The only song that doesn’t appear that enthralling is ‘Yeh Main Aaya Kahan’. Raghav renders the track and his voice appears same as the other two numbers. There is just some variety in the instruments.

‘Banjar’ and ‘Kabul Fiza’ are the trump card of the album and are surely going to make a mark for themselves. It is Raghav who deserves the credit for coming out with one such score in his very first film itself.
