Expectations on this film are sure to be high, as Bharath and Genelia of ‘Boys’ fame are playing the lead pair. Director Vikraman is back with this film after a long gap. He is known for his sentimental films like ‘Pudhu Vasantham’, ‘Vanathaipolae’, ‘Suriya Vamsam’, ‘Poovae Unakaga’ and ‘Priyamana Thozhi’ but he has changed the track this time around.

The film is a love story with lots of action to attract the youths. Hero of the film Bharath revealed that it is a different kind of film for him. He added that director Vikraman, who is known for his family dramas, has taken a different route by taking up this action film. The director confirmed the change by saying; “All my earlier movies had soft themes with emotions interlaced all over. In ‘Chennai Kadhal’, I have come out with a romantic entertainer in a youthful package. With a young crew to assist me, I believe the product has come out well. There would be enough action scenes to attract stunt-lovers.” He is also thankful to producer S.Thanu for given him the chance to be a part of his film.

Genelia’s confidence level is high following the stupendous success of her recent Telugu release ‘Bommarillu’. Now, she is making a comeback in Tamil with this film. Joshua Sridhar’s musical score is said to have come out really well.
