Movie Review : Paruthiveeran

Producer: K E Gnanavel
Director: Amir
Cast: Karthi Sivakumar, Priyamani
Music: Yuvan Sankar Raja

Paruthiveeran is a story about a rural hero who is inspired by the life of the reformer Paruthi Veeran. But director Amir claims no direct reflection of the real life of Paruthiveeran. It is based on an incident of 1970. The film is a blend of realism with entertainment.

Karthi Sivakumar, younger brother of Surya is making his debut in this film. He plays the hero who fights for the people of his village and casteism forms a under current in this film. Priyamani who had worked with Balumahendra takes the lead against Karthi. Apart from the regular cast about 60 new faces appears in this film. The film takes a realistic approach in its making also as all the actors dubbed for themselves. Both Karthi and Priyamani have taken a deglamourising effect to bring in the reality of a rural people.
