Noted scriptwriter Ranjan Pramod, who had earlier wrote the screenplay of hit films like ‘Meesa Madhavan’, ‘Manasinakkare’, ‘Achuvinte Amma’ and ‘Naran’ is venturing into direction through ‘Photographer’. It features Mohanlal and debutante Nithashree in the lead roles and Howli Pottur is producing it.

The film is based on the Muthanga incident where lots of innocent adivasi tribals were killed in the police firing. Mohanlal plays the role of a nature photographer by name Dijo John. Dijo John, who is a Christian, lives happily with his Brahmin wife Sathya and son Saran though theirs was a love marriage. It depicts how love, grief, pain and other incidents strike a simple man.

Mohanlal plays double in the film as Dijo John and as a farmer. Biju Menon, Manoj K. Jayan, Murali, Venu Nagavalli, Mammu Koya are the other cast of the film. Johnson has composed the music with lyrics written by Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri and Azhakappan is taking care of the camera work.
