Producer: A M Rathnam Director: Perarasu Cast: Vijayakanth, Lakshmi Rai Music: Srikanth Deva
Hat trick hit director Perarasu seems to love naming his films after names of places. Nobody can complain because all his films like ‘Tirupachy’, ‘Sivakasi’ and ‘Thirupathi’ had done exceptionally well at the box-office. Yet again, his new film ‘Dharmapuri’ is also named after a place. The hype is even more because mass hero Vijayakanth, who had a successful outing in politics, is acting with Lakshmi Rai in the film.
‘Dharmapuri’ is said to be a complete action-entertainer. The director said that there is nothing new in its storyline but its narration is. It is all about a socio-conscious man fighting against the evils in the society. It is said to have lots of punch dialogues and songs glorifying the hero but nothing intentional as such. The director however clarified that the film has nothing to do with politics.
Lakshmi Rai, who has been on a leather hunt for a hit to make it big in film industry is pinning all hope on this film. She is happy to act with Vijayakanth. Director Perarasu has not only written the lyrics and sung a number composed by Srikanth Deva but also plays a small role in the film.
