Movie Review : Nuvve

Producer: Chota Naidu, Lakshmi Reddy Idamakanti
Director: Gopichand
Cast: Dhanush, Ravi Varma, Samragni, Shafi
Music: Ashirvad

Gopichand has struck back with a bang with ‘Nuvve’. It is a triangular love story that revolves around three people. As promised earlier by the makers of the film, it boasts of a unique story. The director deserves accolades and praises for trying out something new and putting it across in an interesting way.

Innocent village guy Srinu (Dhanush) comes to Hyderabad. Anitha (Samragni), the daughter of his landlord admires his honesty and innocence. This admiration grows stronger and they fall in love. However, Anitha’s mind changes when a rich businessman by name Rana (Ravi Varma) proposes her. Her craze for money makes her to ditch Srinu and marry Rana. Disappointed by this incident, Srinu commits suicide. Anitha leads a happy life with her hubby but Rana's car driver Chalapathi (Shafi) kidnaps her one-day and tortures her. You have to watch the film on the big screen to know what happens to her after the kidnapping episode.

Dhanush has done his role well and his expressions are fine but Ravi Varma is not impressive. Samragni’s role is a tough one with both negative and positive shades but she has carried it through quite well with expressive eyes. Shafi and other actors too have given justice to their respective roles. The technical aspects of the film are also cool with pleasant music composed by Ashirvad.

This is a good piece of work from director Gopichand. He deserves a pat from the back for daring to tread a different path.
