Rejuvenated after their heartwarming musical scores in ‘Dhadkan’, Nadeem-Shravan and Sameer can be heard once again in Venus Records and Tapes new presentation ‘Hum Ho Gaye Aapke’. But this one lacks in the energy and intensity of their last album. Musically romantic this movie stars Fardeen Khan and Reema Sen in the lead.
The mushy musical journey begins with the title track ‘Hum Ho Gaye Aapke’. It sounds great in the voice of seasoned vocalists Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik. In feel it comes close to ‘Sambhala Hai Maine Bahut Apne Dil Ko’ from the movie ‘Naaraz’. Romantically high soaring this sweet and sugary melody falls softly on our ears. The music may not be inventive and rare, but with its simple and slow moving rhythm the song reserves a place in our heart.
Next song ‘Ishq Hai Kya’ has Sonu Nigam behind the microphone. Picturised on the brash, happy go lucky and highly trendy Fardeen this song sums up his character in the movie. Adorned with zestful beats and youthful music this fast moving track compels you to hit the dance floor. Moreover it perfectly goes with the character of Fardeen Khan, especially the chorus piece ‘Love me, love me for a day’.
‘Abhi To Mohabbat Ka’ takes you back to the somber mood. Veteran singer pair Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik impresses us with their flawless rendition. Nicely arranged its music boast of an ear catching tune and heartwarming rhythm. But it misses out its charm in today’s musical cat race.
Mushy and mellow mood continues with ‘Der Se Hua’. This song comes twice in the album once each in the sounds of Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu. Its slow moving and peaceful melody pleases the heart of the audience. This is the best song of this album.
Musically ‘Pehli Pehli Baar’ is far better than the rest of the tracks. It is not an out of the box tune, but with its the nice and simple orchestration it could have gone far higher in the musical realm. But this time the unenthusiastic rendition of the senior singers Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik pulls it backwards.
The album concludes with an exciting dance track ‘Re Mama’. The embodiment of youthful energy and zest Sunidhi Chauhan renders this highly perky and vibrant musical number. Set to tune in a contemporary manner this song fails to ignite the feel of pep and verve in the listener’s heart. Its lines may remind you of a song from the old Ramesh Sippy movie ‘Andaaz’. But there is a huge unfathomable divide between these two.
The music of ‘Hum Ho Gaye Aapke’ fails to incite the audiences. They are strictly ordinary. It sounds great on ears even then it does not make a good buy.
