Audio Review : Don’t register an impact

Producer: Rohitashv
Director: Sanjay D Singh
Cast: Rahul Singh, Parmita Katkar, Amrish Puri, Madhoo, Mukesh Tiwari, Rahul Dev, Tinu Anand
Music: Uttam Singh

Producer Rohitashv and director Sanjay D. Singh brings an action and emotional packed drama on screen with ‘Kachchi Sadak’. Rahul Singh will be seen after long in this film, which is also written by him. Parmita Katkar plays the female lead. Madhoo makes a comeback with this. Late Amrish Puri and Mithun Chakravorty are in pivotal role. The film also marks the return of composer Uttam Singh who didn’t deliver any big hit after Yash Raj Films’ ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’. Dr. Prabha Thakur writes the lyrics. With not so big names on the counter there is not much expectation from the music and likewise other than a song or two the soundtrack don’t register an impact.

'Kachchi Sadak' the title track is an energetic and rhythmic number rebelling to take the world. KK gets behind the mike and infuses energy into the track. Uttam Singh lends a raw musical feel to the track. It’s a situational track that’s not worthy of pleasure hearing.

After the fast paced number, you just relish the lovely romantic number 'Ek Tumse Baat'. It’s a sweet and slow conversational song set in retro style. Much dependable Shreya Ghoshal team with Udit Narayan for the duet. It’s a pleasant number sure to bring a smile on your face. Uttam Singh sums the instruments to bare minimum and this lends to the appeal of the track. There is a sad version of the same track with slower pace and is short. It’s a situational number. There is a third version of the track as 'Instrumental' version.

Promo doing the rounds of the film has Mithun appearing in a special performance in 'Khwaja Mere Khwaja'. Lapped with the voice of Adnan Sami and good lyrical quality makes the song stand out. It’s an energetic Sufi devotional track and has been sung well by Adnan Sami.

After making an impact with 'Lagey Raho Munnabhai', Vinod Rathod returns back with the track 'Hungama Hungama' along with Udit Narayan. It’s a fun and frolic number that doesn’t rise above ordinary. Two singers do their part well as this outdated number fails to strike the chord. There is a sad slow and short situational version of the track as well. Udit Narayan goes solo for the sad number.

'Ek Tumse Baat' and 'Khwaja Mere Khwaja' are the only songs in the album that are pleasant to the ears. Rest sums up being situational tracks that are just passé.  Without much promotional backing the album is surely going to get a miss.
