After being showered with laurels and awards for his last film ‘Iqbal’, director Nagesh Kukunoor comes up with another great work ‘Dor’ starring Ayesha Takia, Gul Panag, Shreyas Talpade, Girish Karnad and Pratiksha Lonkar. The film is produced by Sahara One Motion Pictures and is scheduled for release on September 22, 2006. Striking upon another unusual and sensitive story, ‘Dor’ depicts the journey of two women from different worlds but how destiny brings them together. It's a story about love, loss, friendship, hope and ultimately redemption, which will make you linger with the thought, how far can you go to save the one you love.
Zeenat (Gul Panag) is an independent, confident, married young woman, living in a remote Himachal Pradesh village. Meera (Ayesha Takia) lives in rural Rajashtan and comes from a conventional Rajput household. A piece of news, which happens to be of common interest to both of them, reaches the strangers and changes their life forever. They begin their search and this is when a man (Shreyas Talpade) faking his identity enters their life and tries to unravel the mysteries leading to the most unexpected end.
The film is written and directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, music is by Salim-Suleiman with sound from Vipin Bhati. The movie has five songs with meaningful lyrics by Mir Ali Hussain.
