Prithviraj and Bollywood actress Mallika Kapoor are playing the lead roles in ‘Arputha Theevu’ and actors like Manivannan, Karunas, Vaiyapuri and Jagadish are playing various important roles. Director Vinayan seems to have roped in 300 dwarfs for the film to give a touch of reality.

‘Arputha Theevu’ is a remake of a Malayalam film, which is in line with Gulliver's ‘Travels’. It tells about an island, which is ruled by the dwarfs. The male folks in the island are born dwarfs due to a divine curse while women folks are tall and beautiful. Men guard the island to keep away from handsome outsiders out of jealousy. However, Prithviraj manages to fall in love with the chieftain's daughter Mallika Kapoor. The rest of the film is on the trouble they go through because of their affair. It also has an item number by Malavika.

T. Gopalakrishnan and M.A. Vetrivel are producing the film and Vinayan is taking care of the story and screenplay besides directing it. Jayachandran has scored the music with lyrics written by Pazhanibarathi, Pa. Vijay and Snehan. Rajan has written the dialogues and Shaji is taking care of the camera.
