Premalekha Raasa is Kulasekhar's debut directorial venture with Mallidi Venu and Anjali in the lead roles. Mallidi Satyanarayana Reddy produces it under Anandam Academy banner with Kulasekher as the director. Sriram Kaushi, one time associate of R P Patnaik has composed the music with lyrics written by the director himself.
“Enkatesa Enkatesha” is a foot-tapping number with lyrics that have mass elements as well as good meaning. Kulasekhar has used English words for this song as usual. Jassi Gift has rendered it with lots of energy and youthful spirit. It reflects today’s youngster’s ideal girl.
“O Cheli... O Cheli” is a melodious number with modern interludes. Noted music director RP Patnaik has sung it in the company of Sravani. It’s a kind of song that makes the listeners feel good.
“Rama Rama Rama Rama” is also a mass beat number with folk touch and beautifully rendered by Soundaryalahari, Pravani and Balaji. Kulasekhar has used English words in this song too. It starts with a child’s voice and brings to light the mentality of a girl. It also tells the kind of trouble one has to go through to win woman’s heart by quoting the obstacles the heroes of Mahabharata and Ramayana went through in order to win the hearts of their wives.
“Mava Rathirikosthaavaa” is a group song sung by Swapna and Pranavi. It has a mass touch and sounds like an old classical number but Kulasekhar has given a novel feel to it through interludes.
“O Prema Cheppave Nuvvainaa” is yet another melodious number wherein the heroine wishes love to tell her boyfriend that her silence is nothing but love. Chitra has sung it so beautifully. In fact, she is the perfect choice and has made all the difference to the number.
“Mallepoolu Gollumantavi” is a husky number with rural and folk touch. Locally made drum called ‘dappu’ is also used in it. Frontbenchers will surely move their body to the tunes of this number and others too will move their feet unconsciously.
This is a good album with ample melody. Music lovers should not miss this album.
