The winning combination of ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ is back with another film from the series of ‘Munnabhai’ titled ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’. Vidhu Vinod Chopra who is still in his ‘Parineeta’ hangover ropes in its music director Shantanu Moitra, lyricist Swanand Kirkire and female lead Vidya Balan for his new comic venture. So it can be called a sweet blend of ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ and ‘Parineeta’. Directed by Raju Hirani with Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi at the helm, the film will be another roller coaster fun ride. As all are waiting with baited breath for the release of this comic extravaganza, let us check out its music.

A sound of whistle introduces the title track ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ and stays with it till the end. Heard in the voice of Vinod Rathod this ‘tapori’ track goes in sync with the character of Munnabhai. This humorous number sets the mood of the album.

Shaan comes in for the remixed version of the same track. With its trendy western musical arrangements this song grows on you fast. Shaan carries the whole track on his shoulders. Overall, this is another enjoyable track from Sanjay Dutt and Munnabhai.

‘Samjho Ho Hi Gaya’ is the best of the album. It has already made waves in the media. Rendered by Vinod Rathod this song impresses you with its simplicity. Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi intercept Vinod Rathod with their questions and answers. This informal kind of crooning accentuates the effect of the track.  Swanand and Sajid-Wajid tell us about a humorous anecdote with their well-written lyrics. The scenes in the circus tent will make us laugh our heart out.

The same celebratory mood continues with ‘Aane Char Aane’. Renderd by the Indian Idol 2 runner up Karunya this song is a fusion of classical Indian and modern western music. Vidhu Vinod Chopra assists Swanand in the writing of this nursery rhyme styled song. The same song is repeated again in the album with the accompaniment of loud African beats.

‘Pal Pal’ a sweet and simple romantic track is crooned by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghosal. Picturised on Vidya Balan this song makes for a good hear. This song definitely differs from the other songs in this genre. Once again Shantanu Moitra falls back to kiddy song mode. And to our surprise the blend of romantic lyrics and kids music creates a magic aura around this track.

Munnabhai pays his respect to the Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi through ‘Bande Mein Tha Dum-Vande Mataram’. Sonu Nigam leads from the front. Shreya Ghosal and Pranab support him well in this patriotic rendition. An instrumental piece of the same track follows this song.

Once again Shantanu Moitra creates magic with his musical scores. These songs are sure to make deep inroads in the hearts of music lovers. Situational in nature this song may gain in popularity once the movie is out.
