After a successful stint with comedy in ‘Munnabhai MBBS’, Arshad Warsi and Sanjay Dutt are coming together for another comic thriller ‘Anthony Kaun Hai’. Raj Kaushal who has given us ‘Pyaat Mein Kabhie Kabhie’ and ‘Shaadi Ka Laddoo’ is the director of this fun flick. This Nikhil Panchamiya production has Himesh Reshamiya and Sameer at the helm of musical department.

Alphabet ‘A’ has always been Himesh’s lucky mascot. He shot to fame with ‘Aashiq Banaayaa’ and his latest work ‘Ahista Ahista’ too worked well for him musically. Let us check out whether the goddess of luck favors him this time round or not.

Unfortunately the album starts in a negative note. The first track ‘Ishq Kiya Kiya’ carries a faint similarity to the song ‘Teri Yaad’ from ‘Kartoos’. Even then no one can stop it from shooting in to popularity. Composed and crooned by Himesh himself this song like many of his other tracks is a typical entertainer. Sunidhi Chauhan accompanies him in this endeavor. But it is Himesh who towers over this track. Sunidhi’s vocals, Sameer’s lyrics everything is pushed to back burner by this composer/singer. This characteristic Reshamiya track inspired by Eastern music has everything to make it a winner. Reshamiya’s remix man Akbar Sami comes up with a nice and enjoyable remix version. He changes the rhythm of the song and makes it a new song altogether.

‘Saawariya Tere Bina’ has a catchy tune that bowls you over at the first listening itself. The song starts with the sound of flute and then the words ‘No Way Way’ comes. Reshamiya and KK croon this track picturised on Arshad Warsi and Sanjay Dutt. This track is sure to go all the way ahead. But the remixed version comes nowhere close to the original.

Next track ‘Tune Mera Chain Vain’ fails to create any fizz in music lover’s heart. This has nothing to boast of.  With its bubbly and rhythmic beats it may impress the listeners for the first time. But the effect is not long lasting. In this Kunal Ganjanwala, Shreya Ghosal rendition everything from music to lyrics are average. This track sounds more like a rap and reggae track composed in early 50’s.

Then comes the bhangra number ‘Bhangra Paale’. This song introduces Saru Maini, a talented young singer to bollywood playback singing. The man with a golden voice, Sonu Nigam, gives her company. Reshammiya man Jayesh Gandhi lends the background vocals. Sonu Nigam tries in vain to give it a Punjabi touch. But this romantic track comes nowhere close to bhangra. Yet it provides us with ample entertainment. Like many a time in the past once again Akbar Sami comes to the rescue of a mediocre Reshamiya number. Akbar Sami remix lifts this song to a new level. He outshines the original composer Himesh in this process.

How can you describe the next track ‘Because I Love You’? This track rendered by Kunal and Gayathri Ganjanwala takes you to the heights of love. On the whole, this track offers a sweet and soft romantic experience. This is the best song of the album. Remixed version of this track is a bit swifter and faster. But it cannot create the same kind of impression as the first one. A nice song to be played in for a romantic outing.

Last but not the least ‘Let’s Rock’ is a solo from Sunidhi Chauhan who does not get much foothold in this Reshamiya album. But, unfortunately, the song she gets finally is the worst ever track composed by Himesh Reshamiya in recent years. The song starts with a long instrumental prelude. Then slowly and steadily Sunidhi’s voice starts to creep in. Even with its rhythmic beats this song fails to attract any attention. The remixed version is also so so. Overall this is the forgettable track of this album.

To sum up, this is one of the most disappointing albums produced by Himesh after his ‘Aashiq Banaya’ days. There are only one or two tracks that can be enjoyed. Others are just plain mediocre.
