Audio Review : Haan Meine Bhi Pyaar Kiya: Hear Nadeem –Shravan in a Different Mood

Producer: Suneel Darshan
Director: Dharamesh Darshan
Cast: Abhishek Bachan, Karishma Kapoor, Akshay Kumar
Music: Nadeem Shravan
Singers: Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Sarika Kapoor

After tasting success with ‘Dhadkan’ and ‘Raja Hindustani’ Darmesh Darshan once again joins hands with Nadeem-Shravan and Sameer team. This Suneel Darshan movie has another interesting pair up, Abhishek and Karishma. People are waiting to see this off screen lovebirds’ romance on screen. With such a dashing lead couple and heartwarming melodious tracks this movie is sure to recreate the ‘Raja Hindustani’ magic.

Interestingly Nadeem –Shravan sounds different in this album. The opening number ‘Hum Yaar Hain Tumhare’ begins with a saxophone prelude. Sameer too is in his inspired best. When the music flows through his poetic verse the effect is magical. To add to the beauty Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik renders this in a soft, whispering kind of voice that immediately touches the deep chords of your heart. This song is the best example of what these music directors are capable of. Their music complements the poetical verses of Sameer. Moreover the intermittent use of saxophone and wavy sound provides the listeners with a new musical experience.

Kumar Sanu, Alka version of the same track ‘Hum Pyaar Hain Tumhare’ once again revives the same old feeling of love and passion. The sound of piano successfully replaces saxophone and still succeeds in recreating the same magical music. Here the music director duo needs a pat on their back as they try to infuse new life into each of their compositions. Even the repeated version of the title track gets a make over with their new musical arrangement.

‘Zindagi Ko Bina Pyaar’ reverberates with the feeling of intense love. Once again Sameer sinks deep into the ocean of love and comes out with a poetical gem. The soft and slow voice of saxophone complements the mushy mood perfectly. And to our surprise lesser-known singer Sarika Kapoor comes up with a matching rendition. Her voice exudes with intense and passionate love. Kumar Sanu gives her company.

Once again Nadeem –Shravan treats the female solo version of the same track in a totally different manner. Their favorite instrument dholak takes a back seat and new instruments like piano comes in. This Alka Yagnik rendition is accompanied by the sound of a soft playing piano. In effect this track comes close to the classic hit ‘Mera Dil Bhi Kitna’ from ‘Saajan’. Kudos to the music director duo for coming up with such a wonderful piece of music.

Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik take the mike once again, but this time for a fast paced and peppy soundtrack ‘Teri Ankhon Ka Andaz’. Saxophone and guitar play a major part in this song. Coupled with vigorous musical arrangement and energetic rendition this song spins a lively atmosphere around it. Interestingly this upbeat number ends with the sound of Shehanai. On the whole a unique experiment from the talented composer pair.

The same holds true for the next track ‘Har Kisike Dil Mein’. Udit and Alka imbibe the mood of the situation and come out with a high-spirited rendition. Saxophone is heard right through this composition. Lyrics are of superior quality. On the whole a nice and enjoyable number from the kitty of these gifted music directors.

The upbeat mood is continued in ‘Mubarak Mubarak’ also. This Udit Narayan rendition is a marriage song where the guests congratulate the couple on their marriage. Udit Narayan is in his energetic best. Sameer’s verses gel well with the rendition and music. The blend of musical instruments like shehnai and saxophone adds a magical touch to this track. The lines ‘Haan Meine Bhi Pyaar Kiya’ gives a sudden shift to this celebratory track and adds to our curiosity. On the whole this one stands apart from the usual bollywood wedding tracks with its unusual music arrangement.

This unique Nadeem –Shravan compilation ends with an interesting instrumental version of ‘Teri Ankhon Ka Andaaz Hai’. Even though this is a shorty it has its moments in the scheme of the movie.

On the whole, this album brings in to fore a new Nadeem-Shravan. Their music excites us with its novelty and uniqueness. Once again this gifted composer pair gives us something to relish.
