Dubbed films thronged Tollywood last year and this year too is no different. P Kiran of Anandi Arts is dubbing Kannada blockbuster ‘Amrutha Dhare’ into Telugu as ‘Amrutha Varsham’. The original version was produced and directed by Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar, who is known for roping in real life incidents into films.

The film has Samir Dattani and Ramya in the lead roles and Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan appears in a special role. It has been in the theatres for 38 weeks and still going strong. So, expectations on its dubbed version are also high.

‘Amrutha Varsham’ is all about a young girl who fights the odds leveled against her. Coining a new school of making films, it has been partly dubbed and partly remade. A few scenes were re-shot to cater to the taste of the local people. The makers of the film have roped in actors like Jayasudha, Nasser, Dharamavarapu Subrahmanyam and Sunil for the re-shot sequences. Some of the original tunes of Mano Murthy have been retained and Kalyani Malik has composed a few more.
