‘Jaana Let’s Fall in Love’ is a movie with a lot of specialties. The first thing is that you are going to see Rajesh Khanna and Zeenat Aman together in a movie after a long time. Next thing is its music - Six different music directors compose the music!
The movie directed by Shahrukh Mirza has the newcomer Rehan Khan in the male lead. Anjana Sukhani is his female interest in the film. There are six songs in the album. Each of the music directors composes one song each. Among the six songs Shaan croons five. The other one is by Kailash Kher.Let us check out the songs.
The opening track is the theme track 'Jaana – Let's Fall in Love'. No point for guessing who sang this number! Yes, it is Shaan. Shreya Ghosal gives him company. Their voices give out the youthful energy that makes this song more appealing. It is a slow melodious, romantic track. Abbas Jelani composes the beautifully written verses of Shahrukh Sultan. It is such a haunting track that your heart will say ‘yeh dil maange more!’ The remix of this song is also very sweet. The pace is the same but Hanif adds some beats more beats in between and makes it a contemporary number.
Next song 'Jaana – Ek Kahaani Sun' is another romantic number in Shaan’s voice. This song composed by Anand- Milind bears the composer duo’s distinct style. Anand- Milind who had given us some of the beautiful romantic melodies in 90’s is back at it again. Shahrukh Sultan pens down one of the best love poems. Shaan once again sings this one ‘shaan se’.
‘Yes I Love You', the title itself tells you what this song is about. This is another love melody. As everything falls in place for this number- from lyrics to music- it works magic. The song starts with the sound of a guitar. It is a slow number crooned by Shaan and Naureen. Debutant music director Pramod Tripathi musically arranges the V.K.Rawal lyrics. The voice of Shaan and Naureen perfectly captures the innocence and love in the lines of. V.K.Rawal.
Next song ‘Ole Ole’ reminds you of a song with the same title. But this dance number is totally different from the older ‘Ole Ole’ sung by Abhijeet. The song starts with the sound of guitar. Once again it is Shaan behind the mike. The sound of the guitar along with the fast beats adds to the contemporary feel of the song. Guru Sharma is the music director. Shahrukh Sultan comes out with another beautiful verse. Unlike the first songs this one has no distinct quality that will set it apart from other musical compositions in the same league.
Rajendra Shiv ends this album with a Sufi- Style song 'Kalma Kalma'. This is a sad number that comes at the end of the album. This is the only song with another male voice behind the mike. This time it is Kailash Kher who sings this sad, sentimental track. ‘Kalma Kalma’ adds to the intensity of the scene. Moied pens down this powerful lyric.
In short the experiment with six music directors turns out to be a success. Even though most of the songs come under a genre, each has a distinct style. The treatment is different, so is the feel of the song. It never looks monotonous. So this album comes as a relief to those who do not like the Reshammiya style of music. This is one of the most beautiful albums out in the market. One that will make even Yash Chora proud!
