Praveenkanth has joined the long list of directors getting into acting. After directing ‘Rakshakan', 'Jodi' and 'Star', he is making a foray into acting with his fourth venture titled ‘Thullal’. Gurleen Chopra and Sonika are making debut as heroines in Kollywood with this film.

‘Thullal’ revolves round a youth who uses his dark complexion to earn sympathy from girls. He encounters Gurleen Chopra and Sonika and tries to get their sympathy too. Praveenkanth said that it is a jolly film for the youth. He added that everybody comes across doubts before marriage whether his choice is right.

Actors like Manobala, Ilavarasu, Sumitra, Uma Padmanabhan, Gita Lakshmi, Sukumari and Dr. Mathrubhutham are playing various roles in the film. Krishnadev and Shekhar Somesh are producing it on Kirudev Art banner and Praveenkanth is directing it besides playing the lead role.

Meanwhile, it was Simbhu who breathe new life into this film, which has been in the cans without any takers. Sources said that a Chennai based jewellery house decided to distribute it on hearing that Simbhu has sung a peppy song on jewelry in the film. Dhina has composed the music for the film, Suresh Devan is taking care of the camera works and Shekhar Somesh is going to do the editing works.
