Movie Review : Seetharamudu

Producer: Yalamanchili Ravichand
Director: Shyam Prasad
Cast: Sivaji, Ankitha
Music: Ramana Gogula

Sivaji was shot to fame overnight with the success of ‘Missamma’ but the failure of his subsequent films has put him under pressure. He has acted only in romantic and soft roles so far but he acts in this action film for a change. Producer Yalamanchi Ravichand and director Shyamprasad S have provided a chance for the actor to prove his worth through ‘Seetaramudu’. However, lack of novelty, poor narration and screenplay have let the film down.

Seetaramudu (Sivaji) is in search of a job after completing graduation but he is still irresponsible. One day, he saves dreaded don Ramulanna’s  (Rahul Dev) loving son Vamsee from murder attempt. He father Rambabu (Ahuti Prasad) is Ramulanna’s advisor. Seetaramudu falls in love with a girl by name Anjali (Ankita). Vamsee also loves her but doesn’t reveal his feelings to her. She tells him that she is in live with another man by the time he reveals his love. At the meantime, Vamsee meets an accident on the road. This makes Ramulanna to give Anjali to his son as a birthday gift. However, he is surprised to know that she is engaged to Rambabu's son. He threatens her sister Hema (Hema) and Suryam (Surya) to cancel the earlier engagements and let Anjali marry his son.

Now, Seetaramudu goes to Ramulanna and warns him. Ramulanna is now determined to vanquish Seetaramudu. However, Seetaramudu is shocked to know that Vamsee is with his father. Ramulanna kidnaps Anjali but Seetaramudu rescues her. Ramulanna goes after him is ready to kill him. Vamsee appears at this very juncture and reveals that Seetaramudu saved his life once. You have to watch the film to know what happens next.

Sivaji has given his best to satisfy the audience. Ankitha has pumped in lots of glamour into the film with generous skin show and villain Rahul Dev's performance is fine. Vamsee should have been given a song with Ankitha, as he is involved with the story most of the time. Ramana Gogula’s musical score is fine. However, Ali’s comedy track and action sequences are not impressive.

On the whole, it is a passable film with nothing much in offer for the film buffs.
